D'Banj Failed Us--Zimbabweans Cry Out
Zimbabweans in their numbers gathered at the Glamis Arena for the Lion Lager Summer Beer Festival tagged "Battle of Africa" on Saturday night. Being the main form of attraction at this years edition, they all looked forward to his performance. He started off okay with his hit songs "Fall in love", "Oliver Twist", "Kukere" remix, "Don't Tell Me Nonsense", "Igwe" and "Why Me" after which he is reported to have lost it. In a bit to regain his stance, he tried sexually suggestive dances with ladies he calls "Kokolets" on the stage, but still could not win the hearts of many entertainment hungry fans. Most of them are reported to have left the arena wishing they never parted with their hard earned money.
In contrast to what D'Banj had to offer, Ugandan chanter Bebe Cool did his best despite his lack of popularity in Zimbabwe. He simply put on a spirited performance and atleast put smiles on the faces of fans.
Unlike P-Square who performed at the same festival last year and left fans asking for more, D'Banj was a total flop and was booed off stage.
