Guys, would you marry a Smoker?

Smoking is sexy!! Or atleast that’s what they all say. While it’s more or less a norm to see men smoke, in our Nigerian society, any lady who is bold enough or should I say wild enough to smoke commands a whole army of stares and glances from all corners of the room. The attention is humbling! Some women crave this attention, they feel good about that air of mystery around them that spins the heads of all those around.

     While some people may regard women who smoke as promiscuous or immoral, they really don’t care so

much and they are doing it anyway. Just like men, they do it for a variety of reasons. It may be to unwind, to look cool, to give them an edgy and mysterious look, to give them a sense of confidence and style, to fit into desired cliques therefore the need to prove how wild, fun and interesting they can be.

     Some women smoke to relax and take a break, or deal with stress, depression, anger or frustration. I read somewhere that some smoke because they regard cigarettes as a symbol of freedom and the so-called image power they think comes with smoking. Some school of thoughts propose that they some women smoke to attract men’s attention to their fragile nature and also (and this is the coolest reason) to look hot and sexy.

     I believe I am the most active anti-smoking non-smoker in the world, and even I can admit a pretty lady with a cigarette looks really sexy. Don’t get me wrong please, I am in no way encouraging the act of smoking, I’m just stating the obvious, it does look kind of cool.

   So having said all this, the question still stands. Guys, would you marry a smoker? why or why not? Do you think its okay for females to smoke? Girls, would you allow your brother or nephew to marry a smoker?
